Last details OKd in Anaheim plan
The Anaheim City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved the
last remaining plans for the 3,001-acre Mountain Park development at the eastern
edge of Anaheim Hills in Gypsum Canyon.
Irvine Co. plans to build 2,500 homes divided into five "villages"
as well as 22 acres of parks and trails leading to 2,653 acres of open space.
Officials with nearby Yorba Linda have voiced objections over
the project, citing potential traffic congestion as new residents use Yorba
Linda streets to access the area.
Construction is expected to begin next summer, with the first
homes available late 2007.
Completion of the entire project is scheduled to take five
to seven years.
